Ah, you're right. I'm one of those people who apologizes too much. I would probably find a way to apologize to someone while giving them a million dollars. ;) I should take that out and leave a more confident author's note, ha ha.
I'm glad you didn't think it seemed too exaggerated; I know there are unfortunately a lot of sad stories to come out of the foster system here in the States, too. Since it's a sensitive issue, I tried to be careful not to sensationalize it.
